Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & Account

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU and other jurisdictions where that applies) to use this service. If you are below the threshold, please use it only with a guardian's supervision, or not at all.

You may use free features anonymously, or register an account to save results. Please provide a valid email when you register.

You are responsible for keeping your account secure (your sign-in device, your email account). Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

2. Service Description

DuoPersonica provides:

• MBTI-style assessment — a 5-point Likert test adapted from public-domain instruments (IPIP-NEO, OEJTS), outputting a 16-type personality classification.
• SBTI scenario test — a proprietary 24-item scenario test outputting one of 27 labels.
• Compare and share — a dual-track comparison page and a sharable public short link.
• AI Coach — given your results and a scenario you describe, returns a discussion-style reply generated by a third-party AI model.
• Account & history — view your test history across devices.

The service is in beta; features, UI, and pricing may evolve.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit illegal, violent, hateful, sexual, harassing, or discriminatory content (including in AI Coach inputs)
• Scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, or automate access to the service
• Use bots or scripts to mass-submit tests or inflate metrics
• Impersonate others or supply false identity
• Interfere with service operation (DDoS, injection attacks, etc.)
• Upload content containing malicious code
• Use service output to make professional decisions (hiring, medical, legal, etc.)
• Resell or redistribute paid content

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for any violation, with or without notice.

5. User Content

Text you submit to AI Coach is "User Content." You retain ownership.

To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to: process and transmit that content to AI providers to generate replies; and analyze it in aggregate, anonymized form to improve the service.

Your test responses and computed results likewise belong to you; we use them only to the extent needed to operate the service.

Public share pages (/r/[shortId]): when you generate a share link, the corresponding anonymous version becomes publicly viewable. Contact us to remove it.

6. Intellectual Property

The DuoPersonica site design, brand, codebase, adapted question banks, SBTI label naming, and type descriptions are our intellectual property or used under license.

MBTI® and Myers-Briggs® are registered trademarks of The Myers-Briggs Company, with which DuoPersonica is not affiliated. Our MBTI-style assessment is adapted from public-domain research (IPIP-NEO, OEJTS) and is not endorsed by the Myers-Briggs Company.

The SBTI concept is a tribute to a Bilibili creator. Our 24-item scenario set is original; the 27 labels are independently created and do not reuse the original creator's full label set.

7. Payment & Refunds

v1.0 is currently free. Paid features (Mini Report / Premium Profile / AI Coach subscription) will launch in later versions; this section will be updated with payment and refund terms at that time.

Until paid features launch, all features are free. We make no commitment about availability, continuity, or freedom from defects of free services.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express or implied warranties regarding:

• Uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation, or fitness for your particular purpose
• Accuracy, scientific validity, or reliability of test results
• Accuracy, completeness, or applicability of AI Coach output
• Availability of third-party services (AI providers, Cloudflare, sign-in providers, etc.)

Your use of the service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages (including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or emotional distress)
• Our total cumulative liability arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (or USD 50 if you have not paid)

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g., gross negligence or fraud).

10. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting your account from /my.

We may suspend or terminate your account with reasonable notice if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or if we discontinue the service.

After termination: the disclaimer, liability limitation, and IP sections survive.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

For v1.0: these Terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction where you have your principal residence. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your home jurisdiction always apply.

If a dispute arises, please contact us first by email and try to resolve informally. If that fails, the dispute shall be resolved according to the law and competent courts of your principal residence.

Note: this clause is a v1.0 placeholder and will be finalized after legal review. We will commission counsel to confirm governing law and dispute resolution mechanisms before EU traffic, paid tier launch, or commercial scale-up.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email to registered users. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

If you disagree with the changes, please stop using the service and delete your account.
