BOSS

Leader SBTI type

I take one step back. They just look at me.

Always has the wheel. Passenger seat is just decoration.

Typical behavior

Enters any room and starts directing within 30 seconds. Must speak first and summarize last in meetings. When a subordinate asks a question, BOSS doesn't answer details — they ask 'what do you think?' Never lets anyone else drive, order food, or pick a movie. Takes forever to admit they're wrong, but once they do, they genuinely change.

Signature scene

Kickoff meeting for a new project. PM hasn't even finished the background briefing before BOSS is at the whiteboard drawing a 3-phase roadmap. Colleagues complain after the meeting. But everyone follows BOSS's plan anyway next week.

Hidden side

You weren't born to lead. There was one moment, somewhere back, when you stepped back and watched nobody step up. Since then, you haven't stepped back. In meetings you speak first and summarize last — not because you crave authority, but because you've seen what happens when nobody holds it. You say 'anyone can drive,' but if someone takes the wheel, you'll find five things wrong within three seconds. The tiring part isn't driving. It's that occasionally you stare at the passenger seat and can't quite remember what being a passenger felt like. That seat got too cold, and nobody's been able to put you back in it since.
